So recently I've gotten into Doctor Who, I watched Nine, Ten, and part of Eleven seasons, then I skipped ahead to Fourteen's specials because I love the Doctor & Donna and their friendship so much! Right now I am reading this book, the only Doctor and Donna Doctor Who book they had at my local library because I wanted more of them!

I haven't read any fic for them, because this is one of the few times I'm actually satisfied with canon, at least after the specials. I think if I had watched Ten's run back in the day I would have been so angry with how her story ended, but now it just feels like a warm hug.

Yes, at some point I will continue with Doctor Who, I've been told that I will probably really love Twelve, but for now I am just basking in these two.

Sorry for no actual fandom recs today, but I got the Doctor and Donna on the brain.

that's a lovely vid. donna was my favorite of ten's companions. i mean, i liked rose and i liked martha (martha was pretty cool) but his relationship with donna was the best. i was SO SALTY about what the ptb did to her and so glad they gave her all her memories back. you should continue to bask! the specials were really great.

i liked thirteen too - she was really cute - but i haven't finished her seasons yet. y'know, when you're ready to catch up. :D

I've had it for ages but then I loved 9. Helps that I always love Eccy's work even before Doctor Who. He's an amazing theatre actor.

I love them so much! I was a little leery when I heard they were bringing 10 back, but then when I heard Donna was coming too, I was SOOOO excited. 11 is my doctor, forever and ever, but Donna is my second favorite companion of all time. I really loved what she brought to the show, and I loved what she turned 10 into. ♥

It also doesn't hurt that David Tennant and Catherine Tate are so ridiculous together. I'm sure you've seen the Red Nose Day thing? It makes me so happy, as does imagining them as Beatrice and Benedict in Much Ado About Nothing. *sigh* I never thought I'd think of anyone but Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson as those two, but now, I can NOT read/watch/think on those characters without seeing Tennant and Tate all bickery and in lovey. ♥ ♥

I really didn't appreciate Donna the first time around, but when I was rewatching the other year, I completely fell in love with her friendship with the Doctor, how she doesn't take any shit from him, and she pushes him to be better.

And the special was LOVE! I was utterly gleeful

That is why I love Donna! She doesn't fawn over the Doctor like some of the other companions do, she treats him like an equal and expects him to do the same for her. It makes so much sense that he kind of fell apart after he lost her. The specials were very healing to the heart.
