Snowflake Challenge Day #14

In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (Or a few!) What makes it particularly appealing for you? What do you like in fanworks featuring that trope?
This one is kind of easy for me because I'm always filling out sign up forms for exchanges and they always ask you about your preferences. Some of my favourite tropes and things in canon and fanon:
*Found Family: give me a group of strangers who over time become a family, and I eat that up. I also like established families that broaden because new people come into their lives. I think I love it so much because you take characters who sometimes feel very alone and unintentionally give them the support system they need.
*Friends to Lovers: there is something so satisfying about watching two characters who have such a deep friendship realize they can become more
*Antagonists to Friends to Lovers: I hesitate to call it enemies, because enemy can have some really negative connotations. This trope can be very hard to get right, but, when it is done well, I absolutely love it. I find it is especially great if it is done over long period of time, like in a TV or book series. I'm just really a fan of the slow progression from antagonists to reluctant allies to seeing each in a new light and shared experiences to friends to lovers.
*Loyalty: I love characters who are "ride or die" for each other, I especially love it in het scenarios where they man is loyal and supportive of the woman, either she's in charge or he believes in her above anyone else
*Mature Pairings: I love pairings that get to together later in in life, especially if this is there second time at love because their first relationships didn't work out for whatever reason. There is something so lovely about watching two people, who are older and who know who they are, come together, peculiarly if they thought they would never find love again, or they were beyond that.
*Older Woman/Younger Man: the age gap doesn't have to be large, but I do have a soft spot for these pairings, to find them done well in canon is extremely rare, so I often turn to fanfiction to find my fix. Also a fan of older woman/younger woman in some of my f/f pairings.
I'm sure there are others, but these are the ones that almost always come to mind for me.
