1. Know Thy Serpent Well - Good Omens, Azirphale/Crowley, fic (it was the longest fic I wrote last year)
2. All the Fucking Time - GOT, Jorleesi, Fanvid
3. Chiil The Fuck Out - Loki, Fanvid (vids can be fun to make, but they can be very time consuming)
4. How They Loved Each Other - Star Trek TOS, Kirk/Spock/McCoy, Gif Set (I remember going through so many episodes trying to pick out the prefect clips to gif)
5. Waterfall - The 100, Abby/Kane, fic (I find it so hard to write smut, but I keep challenging myself to do it for some reason)

I like your bonus lists!

I've never tried to make a vid because they seem very time-consuming and also hard to get music that won't get a take-down notice. I admire anyone who can make them.

As long as you are not making money off the vid most music companies will leave it be, not like the old days when they used to hand out strikes like candy. If by some miracle your vid goes viral, and makes money, the music companies will claim the ad venue. The biggest time sink with vids is going through the source material, picking out clips, trying to match those clips with the music, etc.

Song of Achilles is an amazing book! I've had "The Bone Shard Daughter" on my list but didn't want to start another series I then had to remember, but it's definitely still on.

The Song of Achilles is amazing, I cried so much at the end. The Bone Shard Daughter is very good, it has multiple POVs, but my favourite was a man who is a reluctant hero and has an adorable magical animal companion! The second book in the series came out at the end of 2021, and I am definitely going try and read it this year.

Fandomtrees is one of my favourite fests, thank you again for that! The Song of Achilles has been on my to-read list for ages; maybe this year will be the year...

You're welcome! The Song of Achilles is as good as everyone says it is, at least if you like a good, but somewhat tragic, M/M love story.

Raybearer was really good! I'm very surprised and disappointed to see it's not getting more hype / did not get more awards... (now I need to actually read the sequel, instead of just taking it out of the library and returning it unread...)

I was very surprised that Raybearer wasn't nommed for the Goodreads Choice Awards, I know I nommed it for the Dragon Awards, but it did not make the final list of nominees, and as far as I know it wasn't nommed for any of the other sci-fi/fantasy awards either. I do want to read the sequel at some point.

Raybearer was on the list of finalists for Lodestar (the YA award that's administered by the Hugos), but I was very surprised to see how how on the list it was after the full stats were released. I was voting for it to win, thought something might come in ahead of it from an established author, but was not expecting it to end up last of the six shortlisted works.

I don't get why it was so underappreciated -- I think it was easily the best of the shortlisted debuts...

Oh, looks like it was also a finalist for the Andre Norton, which is the YA award of the Nebulas, but also did not win.

It's good to here that it got some recognition, although if it didn't make the finalists I probably didn't hear about it in the press.

It is a shame, but established authors are probably always going to come out ahead of new authors.
