Snowflake Challenge Day 5

Snowflake Challenge promotional banner with image of metallic snowflake and ornaments. Text: Snowflake Challenge January 1-31.

Search in your current space, whether brick-and-mortar or digital. Post a picture (a link to a picture will be fine!) or description of something that is or represents:

1. Something your favorite character would like
I choose Izzy Hands as my fave, and I think he loves his coffee. I hate coffee, but Izzy just seems like the type that needs his coffee to get through the day.

2. Something that makes you laugh
This comedian's skits always make me laugh, here she is doing a Tolkien/CS Lewis skit

She's on Twitter and Youtube.

3. A fandom place you would like to visit
I wasn't sure if they meant a real or fictional place, but I chose fictional. I would like to visit Highgarden, but only during peace time thank you. Like just look at this place it's like a fairytale:

4. A fandom creator (pro or not) you'd like to meet
My first thought pro wise was David Tennat, but I know myself, if I ever did actually meet him I would be way too shy to say anything to him.

I can't think of a fan creator I want to meet, but I do kind of wish there were like more tutorials from vidders and graphics makers telling you how they did something, because sometimes I look at something and I think how did they do that?

5. Something you find comforting
I find Good Omens comforting, all the bits with Aziraphale and Crowley interacting, sometimes I just rewatch those bits when I'm feeling a little down, except the last 15 mins of season 2, so much angst!

6. Something from a favorite TV series or movie from your childhood
Oh lord there are so many! How do I chose! I picked this one, Rocket Robin Hood, just because I was reading something the other day where they mentioned it and it brought back forgotten memories. I discovered two things about it recently, it was Canadian and it was made in the 1960s! I watched it back in the 80s, it used come on like at 5:30am - 6:00am in the morning. We were farmers kids, so we up early.

7. A piece of clothing you love
I bought these sort of yoga pants recently, they're just called "Basic Relaxed Pant" and they are super comfy, nice high waist band, and they look pretty decent too for lounge wear

via Penningtons.

8. A book or song with a color in the title
This was harder than I thought it would be, so how about Rose, rose is a colour

9. Something only someone in your fandom would understand
They will get to live in that South Downs Cottage, they will! Mr Gaiman promised us!

The Rose song ... gah ... 'I'm only good at feeling what I feel' resounds greatly today.

Good Omens FTW...I totes agree with you. Def a nice pick-me-up!

Also, David is the nicest. I actually got to meet him summer of 2022 (which was exciting and terrifying), but he's patient and really enjoys engaging with his fans. Should you ever have the opportunity to meet him, definitely take it!

That Tolkien/C.S. Lewis skit is hilarious! I genuinely do get a bit verklept thinking about Tolkien and Lewis' friendship sometimes, which I find especially touching in that it was so readily equal to surviving the open contempt they had for each other's most famous works 😂

I can't think of a fan creator I want to meet, but I do kind of wish there were like more tutorials from vidders and graphics makers telling you how they did something, because sometimes I look at something and I think how did they do that?

I don't know if you are a Discord-y person, but if not I'd be very happy to link you to a vidding Discord server where people often help each other out. If that's not a goer, I am a very baby and inexperienced vidder and I don't know a video codec from a whole in the ground, but if you're just getting started I might be able to help a bit? Or if not, I could possibly introduce you to people who would be better equipped to?

All of that comedy is good. Have you seen the one from a different creator about the author, their heroine and the fantasy romance novel that refuses to go according to the plot because the heroine is far too sensible to go along with it?

Roses is a song that punches you hard in the feels.

The Fantasy Heroine Series. The plan goes off the rails almost immediately, as do most stories when the character is at least as strong-willed as the author.
