Challenge #4

In your own space, create some goals.

Goals:

1. Sign Up For Less Things: I know this sounds like a non-goal, but I went a little crazy during quarantine and signed for way too many things last year, to the point that I was occasionally stressing myself out over fandom deadlines. This doesn't mean that I will not be doing challenges, I will, I am just going to try and spread them out a little better and give myself breaks.

2. Do Some Original Writing: I have always been interested in writing my own stories, but they often get pushed aside for fandom related stuff, so I want to make an effort to write at least one original story this year

3. Complete My Book Bingo: This one is a fun one, I've done it the last couple years, and it encourages me to try new genres and authors, to step out of my reading comfort zone a bit, and it has helped me find some new favourite books. (Here is the 2021 card if anyone is interested)

4. Finish Schitt's Creek and Lost: I just have one season left to watch with both of these series, I have enjoyed both of them, I don't know why I keep putting them off

Book bingo sounds great! I'm doing a reading challenge for the first time and I'm loving it. I hope you do well with your goals.

Those are some really good goals, especially the first one, lol, it's so easy to commit to things without realising how much time and effort they're going to take.

I signed up for so much last year it was crazy, like the world was stressful enough last year without adding all that on top, so this year I am determined to be kinder to myself.

I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed the final season of LOST. And even if you don't like the plot, the music is amazing!

I watched the first episode, and Juliet's death made me really sad, so I decided to stop for a awhile, to be in a better mind set, and that was months! I have been spoiled for some of it, but I do really want to see it for myself.

I think sometimes we put off watching the last part of something we enjoy when we know there isn't any more of it. I've also been like this with the last book in a series.

You know I think you may be right, if I watch the last season then there will be no more episodes to look forward to. Plus, I haven't had the best luck with the end of series lately, but everyone tells me Schitt's Creek was delightful

I'm definitely with you on #1. Better to do less and really enjoy it. I intend to be selective this year.

Exactly, I put too much pressure on myself last year, so it is better to slow down and enjoy myself this year.

Yes, we all need to be kinder to ourselves at present, the world is outing enough pressure on us at the moment!

Excellent goals! I'm joining you in #1. Signing up for things with deadlines last year helped me shake the rust off, but also caused some stress. I'm hoping to write more this year, but just to work on what I'm feeling in the moment.

the book bingo looks fun! my reading goals are probably more like "finish a book in less than a month". (working from home has apparently turned me into a very. slow. reader. >.< )

i've been writing original fic way longer than fanfic, so i fully support your goal to produce more of it. join us! we have cookies. :D

One book a month is still good, and there is nothing wrong with being a slow reader.

I knew the original fic people were part of the dark side ;p

I have a bad habit of putting off watching the last season or last few episodes of a show because I don't want it to be over. The last season of Schitt's Creek is so good though. (It's been a while since LOST, so I can't comment on that.)

Thank you, I really hope to watch the rest of Schitt's Creek before the year out, if I put a time limit on maybe I'll be more willing to do it.
