Challenge #7

In your own space, tell us about 3 fandom resources, spaces, or communities you use or enjoy.

I was very tempted to name all the same sites and resources that I listed in last year's Snowflake Challenge, but I am going to try and list a few different things.

==Writing Resources and Challenges===
*WritingExercies - this site has a lot of great writing exercises and prompt generators that can be used for fanfiction or original fiction
*Fictober - an annual writing challenge that takes place during the month of October, providing different prompts for each day
*Flufftober - similar concept to Fictober, but with only fluffy prompts (last year was their first year, so hopefully they will be back again in 2022)
*[personal profile] fairytaleinspired - a fairy tale exchange where you write your favourite characters into a fairy tale inspired story (usually takes place in the spring)
*[community profile] wipbigbang - do you have an unfinished long fic that has been languishing for quite awhile? Would a hard deadline, and the incentive of art created for your fic, help you finish? Then this might be the challenge for you (usually takes place in the summer)

==Resources for Original Fiction==
*Canadian Markets for Speculative Fiction - this lists Canadian magazines and book publishers that accept submissions
*The Grinder - this site lists all sorts of magazines, contests, etc, that accept submissions, and you can search by genre, word length, etc. This is how I found the writing contests I entered last year (I didn't win, but I'm going to keep trying)

==Icon Making Communities==
*[community profile] iconthat - monthly challenges, with voting
*[community profile] icons10in20 - create 10 icons in 20 days, has voting
*[community profile] icontalking - monthly challenges, but no voting
*[community profile] 100fandomicons - create 100 icons from 100 different fandoms, within a 12 month, 18 month, or 24 month period, has no voting

While I don't make them I enjoy looking at icons, so hopefully people will see your links and make many more.

This really is a great list of resources, I like how you've grouped them together, each one full of useful things.

Those are some great writing resources. The WIPBigBang is on my radar since I have a long fic started that I realized at about 20K in that it had a major plot hole that needs fixing... meep! So I'm putting some time aside to work on that this Spring and I may use it there...

Good luck on those writing contests. I don't do original fic for the most part but I have friends that do and they're always looking for places to submit their work. Hope you have some luck with that this year!

Thanks for joining in!

I don't need any more challenges I say, as I open up and track fictober and flufftober. thank you!

The WIP Big Bang really is tempting. And I'm always looking for icons so the more options, the merrier. Thanks for all the recs!
