In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

I don't have a lot of goals for this year, I have a to do list, but that's mostly mundane things I have to get done, like renew my passport. I do have a reading goal for this year, which is to complete my book bingo card, I completed the LJ Book Bingo last year and I felt very accomplished at the end of the year, so hopefully I can recreate that feeling again this year.

I don't have much in the way of fannish goals, if all goes well I will mod the Jopper Autumn Challenge again this year, but that is so far into the future I don't want to think about it too much.

I would like to check out some new canons, but I need to finish a few that I started first. I'm still working on Lost, but I'm taking that in chunks with big breaks, because I enjoy it, but it can also be a bit overwhelming, and it pisses me off on occasion, hence the breaks. I still have to get around to finishing season 3 of La Casa de Papel, because season 4 is coming out soon. And, I have to finish season 5 of Schitt's Creek. Some new canons I'm considering watching are Lost in Space and The Mandalorian (just because of how cute baby Yoda is).

One personal goal that I have, that is kind of carrying over from last year, is to get out of the house more. I only work part-time, and when I'm not working or running errands, I find I spend way too much time sitting around the house, on social media, reading or watching TV, I enjoy all those things, but I don't get a lot of social interaction outside my family, so the plan is leave the house more, I usually feel better after I return. Sometimes we need a break even from the things that are most comfortable.

I finished my first book of the new year! It was a Star Trek novel I had been putting off reading, since I wanted to save it for the new year. I liked it, it was a very slow build and a little heavy handed at times, but still enjoyable. I wouldn't say it was my favourite Trek novel so far, those still go to the McCoy novels, but it was nice to visit with The Next Generation. One funny thing, there are these sacred birds in the novel, and I kept picturing them looking like a cassowary, only kiwi sized. The problem is, that is not how the are described, they are supposed to have no necks, but no matter how hard I tried, that is just how I pictured them in my head.

Anyways, this fulfills the the Movie/TV Tie-in square for my book bingp.
