Art with the most hits on AO3:
Art for once upon a time in nazi-occupied france (Doctor Who)
Art with the most kudos on AO3: Art for Take these broken wings (OFMD)

My overall word count is down, which doesn't surprise me, because I had a lot of stuff going on at the beginning of the year and I think I wasn't writing as much.

I also did more moderating of events this year, I modded the Doctor Who Femslash Drabble Exchange and The Dead Boy Detectives Fic Exchange, so I think I was concentrating more on moderating then actually creating things at times.

My longest story is my WIP that I haven't touch since early 2024, but I do really hope to get back to it at some point, I just got waylaid by life stuff and then I got sucked into a couple of new fandoms that pulled me away from OFMD.

My Dead Boy Detectives fic being really well liked is not a surprise to me.  I wrote it not long after the show aired, it was the first time I was in on the ground floor of a new fandom, usually I wonder in years late, lol, anyways early fics really do get the numbers.

I didn't make a lot of art this year, I didn't sign-up for many big bangs like I have previous years, but I'm glad to see the art for once upon a time in nazi-occupied france getting lots of love, I made that kind of quickly for fanfic writer appreciation day, but I still really like it.

Art with the most hits on AO3:
Art for Pretty Missteps (Batman: Gotham by Gaslight)
Art with the most kudos on AO3: Art for The Knit King (The Old Guard)

Lets examine the numbers. My word count is up from last year which is good, plus I still have a fic from the Good Omens Exchange to post on AO3, but that will have to count towards next year's numbers.

I dove into a new fandom this year, which is reflected in my numbers, I wrote a lot of Our Flag Means Death. I am also still in love with Ineffable Husbands, but this is the first year they have been my top fandom.

I chose This Barrier Between Us as my fave story, becasue it took quite awhile to write, and I love a good fairy tale retelling. My honouable mention went to A Shoulder To Lay His Head Upon, because I wrote that for an exchange and the recipient said they loved open endings, and I don't usually write open endings, so it was a challenge for me. Also, I got a lot of comments on that one like "No! Why'd you end it like that!".

As for my art, I am super surprised at how many views Art for Pretty Missteps has gotten, I kind of threw that one together as a last minute pinch hit for the WIP Big Bang. I guess I should not underestimate the Batfamily fandom. I was not surprised a got a lot of kudos on Art for The Knit King, The Old Guard fandom is always generous with kudos and comments.

Art for Out of the Shadows (The Old Guard)
Art with the most kudos on AO3: Art for Big Sky (Teen Wolf)

It's that time of year again, when I look back on how I did this year writing wise. My word count is down this year from last year, which is a little surprising, because I feel like I have been writing quite a bit, but I have no big bang fic this year to inflate my numbers. I also have a long fic that I wrote for a holiday exchange that hasn't been posted to AO3 yet, and won't be until the new year, so that is maybe why I feel like I wrote a lot, but it is not showing up in the numbers.

I am a little surprised at how much Supernatural fic I wrote this year, because I have been pulling back from that fandom, but I was still pretty active in it in the beginning of the year, so the numbers reflect that.

I chose Starfleet's Golden Boy in a Poly Triad? as my personal favourite, because it was a lot of fun writing from an outsider POV and trying to write like a gossip columnist. I gave my honourable mention to Except For This One because it was my first time trying to write from the POV of a Vulcan character, and I think I did alright, it was also a joy to write for one of my Trek rare pairs.

Concerning my art, the cover art for Out of the Shadows is not my best piece this year, but I think if you tag anything Joe/Nicky from The Old Guard their fans will come. The art with the most kudos is for a Teen Wolf fic, again probably not my best of the year, but I do really like how that one turned out.

All my holidays exchanges are complete, so it is time for my annual writing wrap-up. I'm surprised and impressed by this year's word count, it is almost double 2019, although it may be somewhat elevated by the inclusion of Savior and Ice Queen, which was my WIP Big Bang story, I wrote about 3/4 of it back in 2018, when I was still big into TWD and FTWD fandom, and completed it this year, that is also the reason I have included a second longest story and a second comment thread.

Overall, I wrote more stories this year, up 11 from last year, but I had more time, because of quarantine.

I wrote a pile of SPN fic this year, which isn't too surprising, because I dived head first into SPN fandom this year, and signed up for a lot of SPN related challenges. Almost all my SPN fics did well, but my Adam/Michael fics did especially well, which is nice, because it is a tiny pairing in the fandom, but people are very appreciative when you write for it.

I chose Intertwined as my personal favourite, because it was my first ever fic written for a poly triad, Kirk/McCoy/Spock, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. My honourable mention goes to Coded in the Blood of a Good Wife, it was a small story that really seemed to expand on it's own, mostly because it is casefic, and required me to think out the story a little more. It is also features rare pairs in SPN fandom, Dean/Donna and Sam/Rowena, rare pairs seem to be my niche in this fandom.

Lastly, my most popular piece of artwork on AO3 was the cover art I created for the Equality Auction. One of these days I should actually watch Guardian, the fans all seem very nice and excited to include others in their fandom.

Personal favourite from this year: Blankets
Honourable Mention: An Awkward Conversation with Crowley

I have completed all my fics for my holiday fests and exchanges, and I don't think I'll shall be writing anything else this year, so it is time to do a yearly writing wrap-up. I wrote over 19,000 words this year, and I know that is next to nothing for some, but for me it is quite a bit, considering most of my stories tend to be ficlets.

Game of Thrones was my top fandom, which wasn't surprising with this year being the last season, and with all the fix-it fics, but also Westeros is such a fun universe to play in, and I don't think I'll be leaving anytime soon. What was surprising was some of my most popular stories, Caught is an X-Men Comics/Animated Series fic, featuring the pairing of Storm/Wolverine, which I thought would have worked against it, but I guess X-Men fandom is still going strong. I'll Find You is an angsty little canon fic for the GoT pairing of Jorah/Dany, I wrote it for Shipoween, which was in the later half of the year, so I was surprised it got so much love so quickly.

As for picking my personal favourite it was a hard decision, but I picked Blankets, because it is one of my few attempts at smut, which I'm not very comfortable writing, but I pushed myself to write some this year, and although it wasn't amazing I am still glad I attempted it. My honourable mention was An Awkward Conversation with Crowley, because this was my first attempt at writing this Supernatural character and I think he is not easy to write well, so when he sounded in character to me I was so happy.

Most of these stories were actually written in March for exchanges that revealed in April. I did do some writing this month, one story that I completed for an exchange in May, and a RoLo one shot that is in rough draft, and that I will hopefully get posted soon.

Fandom: Star Trek: VOY
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor & Kes
Rating: G
Length: 100 words
Link: Stimulants (A03)
Summary: "I don't understand the Captain's obsession with coffee"
Notes: Written for the Multifandom Drabble exchange.  It is fun to write the doctor, his humour can be hard to write, but my recipient said the he sounded in character, so that was nice to hear

Fandom: FTWD
Characters/Pairings: Madison Clark/Troy Otto
Rating: M
Length: 1007 words
Link: Banishment (A03)
Summary: "Where do they think you go?" Troy repeated "Nick, Alicia, ... Jake, where do they think you're disappearing to all the time?"
"They think I'm going on runs, and I am, I just stop here first."
Notes: Written for the Age Gap exchange. Man it was so nice writing for this pairing again, my problematic faves.  My giftee was another of the writers that frequently writes for this pairing, I should have known, because the fandom for this rare pairing is tiny.

Fandom: Hawkeye Comics
Characters/Pairings: Clint Barton/Kate Bishop
Rating: T
Length: 1022 words
Link: Late Nights and Early Mornings (A03)
Summary: “What I said to Eden, about losing someone I loved, that was true.”
“I figured it was.”
Notes:
Written as a pitch hit for the Age Gap exchange.  I have been slowly working my way through the Hawkeye comics, and loving them, so this was my first attempt at a fic for this pairing.  I love Clint and Kate, and may definitely try writing for them again some time

Not a lot to report this month. I did write, despite some terrible things happening IRL, but most of the stories were for exchanges that haven't been revealed yet.

Fandom: Star Trek: TNG
Characters/Pairings: Jean-Luc Picard & Will Riker
Rating: G
Length: 73 words
Link: Lonely (A03)
Summary: "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Tell you what?"
"How lonely it could be."
Notes: Written for the Friends will be friends comment fic fest

Fandom: The 100
Characters/Pairings: Clarke Griffin
Rating: G
Length: 28 words
Link: An Artist's Touch (A03)
Summary: She had forgotten the feeling
Notes: Short poem written for the Multifandom Poetry Fest 2019
